Coaching Qualifications:

  • USSF 'A' License

Coaching Experience:

  • Goalkeeping Coach, U.S. National Men's Team. Served as Goalkeeping Coach for several other men's and women's U.S. National Teams.
  • Trinidad and Tobago - Technical Director, National Team Programs. Guided U17 Men's Team, U17 Women's Team and U20 Men's Team to appearances in their respective World Cups. Senior Men's National Team became smallest country to qualify for 2006 FIFA World Cup.
  • Howard University - Won two NCAA Division 1 Championships. Coached team to still standing NCAA season record of 19-0-0.
  • Virginia Commonwealth University - Developed into top 20 program.
  • Served on FIFA Technical Staff of Instructors
  • Frequent presenter at NSCAA/United Soccer Coaches Convention.

Playing Experience:

  • Trinidad and Tobago - Played on country's first World Cup qualifying team.

Published Work:

  • Phillips’ book on goalkeeping ‘The Last Line of Defense, The First Line of Attack’ is heralded as one of the best books ever written on the position.
